In most cases even with a 50% difference you are talking about the enemy 2 shot killing your units. Which means in most ages they rush forward and MAYBE they take out a couple of units (sometimes you can do better of course depending on the era and which units you are talking about) but mostly it just means all of your units are available to be shot by the enemy. You can use your units to attack other players or conquer provinces on the Continent map. Keep in mind if you auto (whether from inside the battle map or from your army screen) your units move first. In Forge of Empires, the military plays an important role. Practice makes perfect as they say and learning how to fight will tell you when auto battling is a good idea. In addition since the computer fights pretty stupidly you don't want to use auto battle until you actually understand the battle system. When auto-battle either does not lead to a win or too many lost troops, Or some circumstances.

You indicate that you had a 50% advantage in boost but was that attack boost or attack AND defense boost? The reality is that while attack boost is very useful the toughness of your units plays a large impact on whether or not you are going to win a battle using auto battle. Please provide some additional information.
